From Ukraine to North America
I never planned to become a healthcare thought leader, but life has a way of leading you exactly where you are meant to be.
Born in Ukraine, I grew up in a culture that valued hard work, resilience, and adaptability. My childhood taught me that success is built through perseverance and dedication. My life took a transformative turn when my parents made the bold decision to move our family to North America when I was just 15 years old.
Arriving in a new country with minimal knowledge of the language, I faced challenges that many immigrants know too well. Yet, instead of being overwhelmed, I adapted quickly. I learned English, navigated an unfamiliar education system, and pursued my passion for finance. Earning my designation as a CPA, I was determined to make a meaningful impact through financial expertise and strategic thinking.
From Consultant to CFO
My career trajectory was anything but ordinary. At 27, I launched my own consulting firm in Toronto, Canada, focusing on complex technical accounting and strategic financial guidance for private and public companies. This experience laid the foundation for my future endeavors, teaching me the intricacies of financial management, operational efficiency, and leadership.
At 34, my husband and I moved our family to Tampa, Florida. Two years later, I became the Chief Financial Officer of a home healthcare company. As part of a dynamic executive team, I provided strategic financial leadership that grew the company from $17 million to $200 million over seven and a half years. This success established us as Florida’s largest privately held home care agency, serving over 10,000 patients each month, and culminated in a successful exit in 2024.
A Calling to Transform Healthcare Finance
While leading financial operations at one of the fastest-growing healthcare companies, I uncovered a critical issue—healthcare finance was in crisis. Outdated financial tools, reactive reporting, and inefficient processes were draining resources and limiting patient care.
I saw Chief Financial Officers navigating complex financial landscapes without the necessary tools to make proactive decisions. It became clear to me that the healthcare industry needed a transformative solution—one that leveraged data, artificial intelligence, and technology to drive financial efficiency and operational excellence.
Taking the Leap
On October 31, 2024, I made one of the most significant decisions of my life. I stepped away from the comfort and security of my CFO role to pursue an even greater mission. With clinician shortages rising and demand for care increasing, I found myself asking, “How can we unlock financial sustainability in home healthcare—so more patients receive the care they need?” This question has driven me every single day. It fueled my resolve to serve as a catalyst for change in the healthcare industry—using my expertise to help organizations optimize their financial operations, scale effectively, and deliver better care to more patients.
Today, I work with healthcare leaders to implement data-driven financial strategies that increase margins, enhance operational performance, and ultimately, expand patient care. My work is not just about improving financial performance—it is about creating a healthcare system that is more efficient, accessible, and capable of serving those in need.
My personal WHY
My commitment to transforming healthcare finance is deeply personal. My grandmother lived alone in Ukraine during the war, without access to home care in her final years. Witnessing her struggles and feeling powerless to help left an indelible mark on me. Her experience fuels my passion and drives my mission every day.
I have made it my personal mission to help the healthcare industry overcome financial challenges. This is not just about balancing the books—it is about building a system where financial stability leads to increasing capacity and better patient outcomes.
